My name is Will Hamric. I’m 16 years old and in Mrs. Major’s 9th grade Leadership class. We learn about cool stuff like drugs, STDs, and how to overcome real life problems. On the other hand, I already know a lot about all these problems.
I was born into “the drug life.” My mom was addicted to crack and still is to this day. She is in and out of my life. I live with my 62 year old grandma and my 11 year old brother. I take care of them the best that I can.
Since I was 12, when my uncle went to prison, I have been the man of the house.
It’s hard to live in a neighborhood you know is infested with drugs. All I try to do is be a positive role model for my little brother and other kids in my neighborhood.
I stay positive and out of other people’s problems.
